Streamlining monitoring and reporting workflows through the Clean Air Project Dashboard

The Clean Air Project Dashboard is a solution that automates monitoring processes, making communication, coordination, and review more effective. The Dashboard was our response to the various observations we made in our Delhi Hotspot Project. First, issue identification and resolution demanded consistent and effective communication between a number of government agencies and officials. Second, the system followed in the intervention involved extensive paperwork, which made oversight processes challenging. Our learning – effective coordination was crucial in ensuring a robust review and monitoring process. A-PAG developed an automated project monitoring dashboard that would meet these challenges. To this end, we created the Clean Air Project Dashboard, in collaboration with an independent software developer.

Using a mobile phone, surveyors can upload photos of issues they observe in the city, whether it is unpaved roads, brown spaces that need to be greened, broken potholes, or anything else. Photos are accompanied by brief descriptions of issues and are automatically geo-tagged. Tickets are then escalated and assigned to concerned officials, who must guarantee resolution of issues within a few weeks. Details of issue reporters and assigned officials are included in each ticket, guaranteeing both officer visibility and accountability to all concerned stakeholders.
