Knowledge Resource: Video Guide on Dispersed Sources of Air Pollution

Dispersed Sources of Air Pollution typically come from dust, burning biomass, and loose malba from construction sites among other things. Individually, they do not pollute the environment as much, but together they make up a significant level of PM 2.5 air pollution. A-PAG’s Dispersed Sources Program helps mitigate air pollution from such issues. Present in 9 cities across the Indo-Gangetic plain, this program aims to improve the ability of urban local bodies and local governments to efficiently address dispersed source issues by streamlining and digitising existing processes.

We started working with the Municipal Corporations of Delhi in 2021, and since then have expanded to Municipal Corporations in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, having raised over 1,00,000 issues across these geographies. This video on dispersed sources was made as a guide for government officials involved with the program. The video aims to provide them with an overview of the air pollution crisis and the role they can play in abating it.
